UI and performance enhancements!
We've been working hard to improve the experience for all our players. We have done some major rework on the way that sectors are loaded in once the player is in a session. The old logic was to reload all the sector assets when a major change to the map was detected. This was fine while we had a smaller player base, but with the constant onslaught of new players and players taking over over sectors, the game was starting to feel a bit sluggish.
With the new patch we have rethought the game logic and are now only updating the sectors that have changed. This took a bit of reworking but it is working great and provides a much smoother experience for the player.
Additionally we have added a few UI enhancements. We were having some issues where a sector may miss the current refresh cycle and be qued up for the next one. This would make some of the assets of that sector not usable until the sector was loaded next cycle - not a great user experience. Sectors will now flash and sector interactions are disabled until all data has loaded in.
Next, we will be looking into ways to speed up the initial load times when you first log in. Stay tuned!
